March 2nd is the National Education Association’s Read Across America Day. As if that’s not reason enough to celebrate, 2007 marks the 10th anniversary of NEA’s RAA program and the 50th anniversary of The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss. I learned to read with Dr. Seuss and The Cat in the Hat.
Whatever you’re doing today, I hope you’ll find time to pick up a book and read, just for fun. Better yet, pick up a book and read with someone, young or old or in-between.

Thanks Jen! How could I have forgotten? I know just the book I’ll pick up and read. Thanks for the reminder!
ACK! I haven’t touched anything but puzzle books yet today. I have 2 hours left, and I’m off to indulge in reading just for fun. Lucky me!
I read my favorite Dr. Seuss (Yertle the Turtle) to a group of my younger kids yesterday. They loved it! I had to read it a second time.
