I’m awaiting final bookmark counts from three shops and more pictures from Nordic Needle.
In the meantime, I have some exciting news to report: I’ve finished stitching the New Puzzle Pattern.
Those are three separate links to previous posts about this pattern, and I didn’t even get back to the earliest ones. This pattern has been in progress for more than two years. Egads. Of course, that makes finishing it all the more exciting.
Of course this image has nothing to do with the new pattern.
Yesterday, we took it to town and had it mounted and matted by Roz at Heritage Art & Frames. Mike is making the frame. We couldn’t be happier with the way it has turned out.
Though Funk & Weber Designs will not be attending the TNNA NeedleArts trade show in Columbus this year, we will ship the model to Jim and Kristi at The Gentle Art to be unveiled in their booth. The piece uses their fibers, remember.
We still don’t have a title for the piece, and we’ve given it genuine effort. There is simply nothing clever coming together. Granted, it will be hard to top “Puzzle Pisces,” but it would be nice to have some sort of interesting double meaning or spin. Then again, those things aren’t guaranteed by any means; that’s what makes them special. So maybe we keep it simple and straightforward. We’ll see. Maybe something will hit me as I do the leaflet layout.
Sorry, no theme or design revelations just yet. I’d still like to have a contest so you can guess the theme of the pattern, but not quite yet. Oh come on, it’s been years already; you can wait a few more weeks, right?
