Looky, looky what I got!
I’ve been wanting these Lazy Girl Designs patterns for months and months and at last I have them. I couldn’t be more excited! I’ve already pulled out fabrics and everything. Trouble is, I can’t justify starting one of these until I’ve started our Roman shades, which were on my July 2006 To-Do list. The Nancy Drew activity book gig bumped them off that list onto the July 2007 list. As of July 24th, the Roman shades were still mounds of fabric and bags of hardware.
Not anymore!
The tables are clear, the sewing machine is out, the bedroom shades are designed, and when I sign off here, the fabric will be cut. Eek! My eagerness to get to the Lazy patterns has provided the motivation and courage to tackle the shades. When the bedroom shades are done, I will reward myself with a Wonder Wallet. Or maybe a Katy Bag. Or a Perfect Pouch. I’m saving the Chelsea tote as my reward for finishing the living room shades. Or maybe because I’m a little scared of it. Although, I know that’s silly. I watched Joan make one here, and her trademark Lazy instructions make it a snap.
I’ll keep you posted on the shades, triumph or disaster! Oh, come on–they won’t be a disaster. Have some faith.

I need to order the Katy bag. I want to make Roman shades, too. Tell us how it goes!
Hi Jen,
This is so exciting! I definately want to see the roman shades.
And waiting to see where you start with my designs, your fabric choices, etc. – it’s like a big Lazy mystery.
Keep us posted!
