Why have things been quiet around here–again? Well, I’ll tell you.
High seas foiled plans to visit Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge, but we managed to get out for a few hours one day so Bob and Thea could see the project that occupied two of their sons for the past year.

We had time for a tour of the lodge facilities and the lagoon.
We used the 15-person lodge canoe so we could all paddle. Notice the black thing to the right of my head and above Thea’s?
It’s a black bear. We happened upon two of them cruising along the shore.
We also did a little fishing–and crosswording–on the Kenai River.
That’s a silver salmon, or coho. We brought home thirteen and left a bunch there.
