Two things for you today. First, a heartwarming article from The New York Times. Besides the idea and effort, I just love the name.
Next, I’m going to send you over to the Cybils. Have you heard of them? They’re literary awards bestowed by Kid Lit bloggers. This is the third year for the program.
The public was invited to nominate books from October 1-15. Sorry I didn’t post this sooner. Still, you can go see what was nominated. The nominees are divided into nine categories: Easy Readers, Fantasy & Science Fiction, Fiction Picture Books, Graphic Novels, Middle Grade Novels, Non-Fiction Middle Grade/Young Adult Books, Non-Fiction Picture Books, Poetry, Young Adult Novels.
Now the blogger-judges are reading all the nominated books and will narrow them down to finalists (January 1) and eventually winners (February 14).
Between now and then the site offers book reviews and news. Fun stuff.
Make that three things today. Have you been to The Armchair Chef recently? My recipe isn’t up yet, but it’s coming.

What a marvelous article! The names are wonderful. That is truley inspiring. (I left the typo in. I’m practicing not editing.)
Biblioburro–love it!
I absolutely loved the Biblioburro article. I’ll be passing it on. Thanks for the tips!
