When we spy the coyotes, they turn tail and run. The eagles, ravens, gulls, and ducks fly away. The black bears, when they’re up and about, ignore us or amble away. The sea otters disappear underwater.
The seals, on the other hand, actually gather and watch us. There may be nary a seal when we put in, but in no time flat, they’ve got us surrounded.
Odd, isn’t it?
