TNNA NeedleArts Market

The fun has begun!

We got here Thursday afternoon, checked into the hotel early, assembled kits for the first class (all the pieces were prepared; it was just a matter of putting them all in the bags), and headed to the Convention Center for Class #1. This was a team-taught class. My co-teachers were Heather from mOnsterbubbles, Jenny from Sublime Stitching, Jo from Dinky-Dyes, Karen from Rosewood Manor, and Kat from Cross-Eyed Kat. We each discussed or demonstrated something new in our companies. I introduced the Needle and ThREAD, Stitching for Literacy program. I thought it went well, but best of all, we learned from the experience and have ideas for ways to improve the program.

Today was vendor setup. We don’t have a booth this year, so all I had to set up was a 30 x 30 x 48 teacher display. It was a snap! I created and printed content for the display last week, and Mike put it all together on a black “science project” foam core display board yesterday. I set up the models, handouts, and guest book in front and bing, bang, boom it was done! I visited other vendors as they set up booths, then returned to the hotel to work on materials for class #2 on Sunday. I’ve got a bit of printing to do, and some practicing, but am otherwise ready to go. I’m excited about it; I hope participants find it as valuable as I do.

I’m getting up early tomorrow morning to help Tink set up for her class, then attend a meeting of TNNA Designers & Teachers. Then it’s Show Time!
