Stitching for Literacy Update

The Monday “What have you done lately?” accountability post, where I announce my Needle and Thread: Stitching for Literacy program promotion goal for the week and fess up on last week’s goal.

Why does it seem like Mondays are coming fast and furious right now? Every time I turn around, it seems to be Monday. Are the other six days on holiday or something? Why didn’t they invite Monday? Maybe Monday drew the short straw and is holding down the fort for the others. Maybe the others will bring her taffy from the beach or something.

Last week, my goal was to update the Challenge Kit.

I updated the

There’s more I would like to do, but those are the basics. I’ll make additional updates individual goals.

Last year, I updated the Kit in February. Look how on the ball we are this year!

I also noticed traffic coming from the ALA site, so we must have gotten a mention there.

This week, I think I’ll tackle a flyer like Shelly suggested some time ago. Something readers can print out and take to their local library or school or needlework shop. I’m thinking it needs to be mostly black-and-white, maybe a color logo, to keep it quick, easy, and inexpensive to print. Any other thoughts on what it should be like or what it should contain?

Your assignment, if you choose to accept it, is to pick up that Web logo and post it on your blog or Web site with a link to the landing page here: http://www.JenFunkWeber.com.

The Web logo in the Challenge Kit is specifically for the 2009 Bookmark Challenge, but if you don’t want to change the logo annually, pick up the one at the top of the sidebar. Please download and save it on your computer, and upload it to your server. If you’re using a PC, right-click the image and then “save image as.” If you’re using a Mac, um…why don’t you leave a note and tell us how you do that?

If you have questions. Let’s find answers.

Spread the word!

  1. How about two flyers: one in black & white, the other in color. That way folks can choose which to print out. Me, I’d opt for the color one every time. It’s not that expensive to print out just a couple…and I think that color flyers catch more eyes. Folks who opt for black & white will have that option, too.
