Stitching for Literacy Update

becca-rolled-hemOne of Becca’s bookmarks from the Bookmarks 101 class. How’s that for a wicked-cool edge? Not to mention the fabric, which she painted. I love this model!

The Monday “What have you done lately?” accountability post, where I announce my Needle and Thread: Stitching for Literacy program promotion goal for the week and fess up on last week’s goal.

Last week my goal was to decide how we will finish our readergirlz bookmarks. I had an idea to test. The end result is a slightly different finish than I had planned, but I think it’s a good one, especially for this group. I’m not going to show you a picture just yet, though. Boo-hoo.

I also invited Bookmark Challenge participants to join me in this weekly goal setting/announcing. Pat at The Stitcher’s Workshop in Arkansas has accepted the invitation, hoping to take weekly steps to grow the program in her shop. I’ve suggested she list her goals here in the comments on Update posts so we can nudge her along. Yay, Pat! If we can help (beyond nagging), let us know!

My goal this week is to get my class description (or abstract, as Mr. Engineer calls it) and teacher bio to Alan, the Bookmark Collector, for the Bookmark Collectors Virtual Convention. And I aim to do it before Christmas. Really. It’s at the very top of my To Do list for tomorrow.
