Stitching for Literacy Update

The Monday “What have you done lately?” accountability post, where I announce my Needle and Thread: Stitching for Literacy program promotion goal for the week and fess up on last week’s goal.

Last week, my goal was to attend the Arctic Needleworkers meeting to discuss the Stitching for Literacy program and Bookmark Challenge with the president of the EGA Greater Pacific Region.

I went to the meeting. I met President Robin Berry. (Yep, that’s her.) I talked with her briefly about the program and gave her the brochure I handed out at TNNA last year. She advised me to contact the Regional Newsletter Editor and the Regional Webmaster.

Honestly, I feel as though I could have conducted a better conversation about it, but it’s too late now and something is better than nothing.

I also picked up my copy of Region officers (I am Regional Representative for Arctic Needleworkers–not a very good one, I’m afraid). This is the Big Find. Now I can e-mail all the different chapters in our region directly! I think I’ll send an article to all the newsletter editors, and a note to all the chapter presidents. There are lots of EGA regions, but I might as well start with my own.

My goal this week is to add the new Challenge Participants and write to Alan, the Bookmark Collector, again about the Battle of the Bookmarks. Actually, I want to write up the Battle Plan as far as we developed it and see if we might be able to make it fly in that format. Oh, I also have to write up Bookmark Challenge contest details for The Stitchers’ Village.

That’s more than one goal, but so be it.
