Stitching for Literacy Update

The Monday “What have you done lately?” accountability post, where I announce my Needle and Thread: Stitching for Literacy program promotion goal for the week and fess up on last week’s goal.

Last week my goal was to order remaining supplies for the baseball bookmarks and get the Participants page updated.

Done and…well, kind of done. As of this instant, I think the site is up-to-date, but in an hour or two that’s liable to change. This may become an exercise in keeping up! But wouldn’t that be great? It means there’s lots of stuff going on.

Since the 2009 Bookmark Challenge starts on Thursday, my goal from now through May 7th is to enjoy the fun!

But you want to know the truth? I keep thinking of things I wish I’d done or I’d like to do in the future. I wish there were an on/off switch for my brain. Enough already. So, I’m writing the ideas down–sometimes that’s enough to shut them up–and I have vowed to them that I will pick up the one-thing-every-week routine when the 2009 Challenge is over. It’s been a very satisfying and productive undertaking.

And now here’s a warning to you: I’m going to encourage you to do one-thing-every-week, too. Whether it’s doing something creative once a week, spending time with someone special once a week, picking up garbage in a local park once a week, working on a giant needlework project once a week–pick something and be accountable here.

You’ve got until May 11th to decide what your thing will be. In the meantime, enjoy today:
