Stitching for Literacy Update

The Monday “What have you done lately?” accountability post, where I announce my Needle and Thread: Stitching for Literacy program promotion goal for the week and fess up on last week’s goal.

The Challenge is almost here!

My goal last week was to finish the baseball bookmark designs. They’re still not done, though one is close. I’ve spent more time developing a different kind of bookmark that I’ll be sharing in the March 1 Needlework Nutshell (subscription box in the sidebar).

In other Stitching for Literacy news, DMC got on board last week. They’re promoting the program to their customers.

Kreinik, again, is doing the same. They’ve been actively promoting it for some time already. Many thanks to both.

I am working on a Stitch ‘N Pitch page for this site and requested some help from members of the Kidlitosphere, the very active, supportive, and fun group of kid-lit bloggers. Their support was enthusiastic and fast. Now I need to do my part and put the page together.

We’ve got a new shop registered to participate: The Creative Needle in Colorado. If you need a place to send your bookmark, here’s another option. Does anyone out there plan to send a bookmark to each participating shop? I may have enough to do that when all is said and done, so I’m considering it. Don’t tell Karen at Arctic Needle, though.

This week’s goal is to continue with the baseball bookmarks, work on the Stitch ‘N Pitch page, and contact shop owners again.
