NaNotWriMo

It’s November 5. I should be at 10,000 words in my NaNo novel by the end of today, were I on my usual NaNo schedule, but unless I can pound out 10k words today, I don’t see it happening.

That’s right, I have zero words written so far. It’s National Not Writing Month for me.

What can I say? A gal’s got to have priorities. As much as love NaNoWriMo, now is not the time for me to participate.

On a brighter note, I have a new idea for my story. It came yesterday, spawned by something my dad said. I can see no connection between this idea and the theme I originally hoped to write about, but I’m excited to try to force them together. Pairing two unconnected things seems like an interesting approach to story-writing, no? I’m getting excited about it!

So what do you think? Can I hammer out 50,000 words in two weeks? Are you insane???

  1. Can you do it? Probably.
    Will you do it? Maybe.
Are the creative juices flowing? Definitely. And that is what NaNoWriMo is for. Whether you write 0 words or 50000, it’s the process.
Of course, I need to think that. I’ve only got 1700 words written!
