Bookmarks have begun arriving at Nordic Needle in Fargo, ND. How great is that display board? Their 2007 collection was spectacular, so I’m eager to see this board on May 8th.
So far, the Nordic Needle collection includes:
- Blackwork, Cross stitch, Tatting, Paper embroidery, Hardanger, Machine embroidery, Pulled thread, Drawn thread techniques.
- Aida, Lugana, opalescent fabric, cardstock paper, perforated paper, banding, and linen fabrics.
- Six-strand floss, Kreinik braids of several thicknesses, Cordonnet, ribbon, pearl cottons, and
several clay embellishments. - From: Anaheim, California; Visalia, California; Green Bay, Wisconsin; Corbin, Kentucky; Dufur, Oregon; The Dalles, Oregon; Daly City, California; College Corner, Ohio; Karlstad, Minnesota; La Jolla , California; and (of course) Fargo, ND.
Wow! Inspiring, don’t you think?
Many of you know that in my world, everything is a game, a challenge, a competition. So I’d like to challenge all of us to see how many different needlework techniques we can demonstrate, using as many different materials as we can find, while collecting bookmarks from all 50 states plus a number of foreign countries.
What do you say? Are you up for a challenge? Paper embroidery…I’ve been wanting to experiment with that. I think perhaps it’s time.
