2011 Bookmarks

Bookmark stitched by Linda H.

The first bookmark for the Needle and Thread: Stitching for Literacy 2011 Bookmark Challenge is in at The Stitchers’ Village. Yay, Patty, for getting the collection started, and yay, Linda, for getting the first one in!

It’s possible some participants are still collecting for 2010, but others are beginning collections for 2011. Anytime is a good time to check in with your local guild or shop to get the ball rolling.

The total reported number of bookmarks collected for 2010 is 3,780. Not all numbers have been reported.

If you’re ready to stitch some bookmarks to support a local library or school and you want to learn some new ways to finish them, you can still register for the Bookmarks 101: Simple, Smart, and Swanky Finishes online class on the Funk & Weber website. We’ll learn the very easiest ways to craft embroidered bookmarks from scratch.

Class starts Monday. I hope to see you there!
