Last December I participated in the Holiday Bake Along over at The Armchair Chef. Orange crescent rolls…peanut butter crunch bars…mmm (makes Homer Simpson gobbling sounds).
Well, I’m participating in the 2007 Halloween Countdown as well. During the month of October, needlework folks are offering favorite recipes and personal stories on The Armchair Chef blog.
I earmarked the very first recipe, Pumpkin Apple Streusel Muffins, by Teresa Wentzler of TW Designworks. Ohmydroolinggoodness, I’ve got to make these. I’m not a pumpkin pie fan, and I’m definitely not a pumpkin soup fan, but I would eat a haywagon full of pumpkin bread and muffins. And Teresa has a reputation of being an amazing cook. While I’ve never sampled her cooking (yoo-hoo, Teresa!), one look at her needlework and artwork convinces me it’s true: such detail, care, and perfection does not exist in a vacuum. I’m sure it touches every aspect of her life, from her studio, to her garden, to her kitchen.
Trouble is, I don’t have apples at the moment. Sigh. Since a 100-mile round trip will not be undertaken for apples alone, it could be a few weeks before I get to make them.
I’m not sure when my recipe will appear, so you’ll just have to watch for it, I guess. I’ll give you a hint: It’s either delicious or disgusting or both. How’s that for enticing? Any guesses?!
