Something New on the Horizon?!
I got a call from the new editor at Simon Scribbles yesterday. There’s another activity book project in the air, and if all goes well, I’ll get to help with it! Funny thing, though: It’s another movie tie-in, but I may not get to read the script. Hm. Puzzling biz, eh?
Deadline Approaches
I’ve been working on class proposals for the 2008 TNNA trade shows–Long Beach, CA, in January, and Columbus, OH, in June. The deadline is tomorrow for 3/4 of the proposals, which is fine because I’m almost finished. In December, I’ll make 1 or 2 more proposals for the Columbus market.
I’ve been […]Night Visitor
Twice last week we were visited in the middle of the night by a young large owl. The first time, Mike was just coming to bed when he noticed it sitting on a tree branch about 15 feet away from our front windows. He got me out of bed, and as we crept […]
Bookmark #2 Kicks Butt…Mine!
Ay-yi-yi.
I thought that after 3 color overhauls, and who-knows-how-many minor color tweaks, I was in the home stretch with this bookmark. Not so.
While I am at last happy with the colors, I am not happy with the placement of 2 of them. I want to switch those 2 colors around, but […]Moose Munch, Garden, and Dog
The garden is now fenced. Sort of. As much as it will be fenced, anyway. It’s a visual moose deterrent only. When we pulled in Sunday night with the fencing materials, Mama Moose #2 (not to be confused with Mama moose #1 from here) and her TWO adorable brown calves were […]
Needle and ThREAD Progress
The wheels for local events are in motion.
I visited Karen at Arctic Needle in Anchorage, and she enthusiastically agreed to participate in the Bookmark Challenge. She will also join me in sponsoring/organizing a stitching outreach event at the Z.J. Loussac Public Library during the Challenge in October.
I visited the Toni, Community Relations […]Let There Be Night Frames
When we created Silent Night, the first Let There Be Night Stitchling, we searched and searched for a frame we loved, and were over the moon when we found the 2-color (black and white) frame at Wood ‘N Needle Crafts. For years they supplied us with frames.
Two years ago, Wood ‘N Needle Crafts closed […]Bookmark #2
ACK! The first attempt to stitch bookmark #2 has been aborted due to unsatisfactory color choices.
New colors have been selected, and I’m off and stitching again.
I also resized the design so the stitch count in both directions is divisible by 4. That’s necessary for the way I want to finish it.The Garden
It started raining last week and it hasn’t stopped. The Matanuska River is now the MUDanuska. The blueberries were parched, so we welcomed the rain–at first. But with no signs of it stopping, it’s kind of put a hitch in our garden gitalong. So I decided to move forward–in the mud. […]
Odds and Ends
It rained again today so Mike didn’t work on the deck. Instead, he searched my name on Amazon. He discovered that Clueless in Alaska has a new review–new to Amazon on April 2nd, new to us today. The last sentence concludes: “…great for kids who like puzzles.” You might be tempted […]
