It’s a beautiful morning on the Hoarusib. We decide we’ll drive out the riverbed a ways, and if the going isn’t awful, we’ll stay here another night.

We re-supplied in Opuwo and headed southwest to Puros, a tiny village in Kaokoland. We didn’t actually go to Puros, but explored the surrounding area.

From the Kunene River at the northernmost edge of Namibia, we traveled down to Opuwo, popping up to see the impressive Epupa Falls on the way.

We left Etosha National Park through the Galton Gate and headed northwest through the mountains to the Kunene River, which separates Namibia from Angola.

We spend our last full day in the park in Okaukuejo. We see fewer animals here, which allows us to focus on different details and aspects of the park.

Lions appearing out of the brush where they spent the day sleeping in the shade.

Our first lion sighting in Etosha is a treat. Cubs and lionesses appear from the brush and prepare for the evening’s hunt.
