The Monday “What have you done lately?” accountability post, where I announce my Needle and Thread: Stitching for Literacy program promotion goal for the week and fess up on last week’s goal.

Last week, my goal was to answer an email that could lead to a program promotion effort that would be great but would put me in a dreadfully uncomfortable position.

I did it. No further response. However, since it’s summer and people are taking vacations, I’m not calling this a dead end yet. After all, I was responding to a conversation started by the other party.

In other news, I have a design that I think might be great for a multi-week needlework mentoring program for kids. It’s got lots of different kinds of stitches, some color flexibility, and room for kids to apply their own creativity. Now I need to stitch it to see if it works as well and looks as good as I think it will. So that’s one goal for this week.

I have another. Several years ago, I paid close attention as Kiki magazine launched. It’s a beautiful magazine for tween girls “of style and substance” that encourages and demonstrates creativity. I wanted to work with them, but never got around to actually submitting articles or ideas. Now, I’d like to suggest a Stitching for Literacy project with them.

So another goal for this week is to contact Kiki and pitch the idea.

How about you–what would you like to accomplish this week?
