Happy Blogiversary!
One year ago today, I wrote my first blog entry here on the site that was to be the home of the Needle and Thread: Stitching for Literacy program. Two hundred twenty-two posts later, here we are, looking forward to 2008; lots of reading, writing, and stitching; and the second annual Bookmark Challenge.
At such a milestone, I think I’m supposed to stop and reflect on the past twelve months, but I’m not in the mood: I’m too excited and busy racing into 2008. If I look back, I’m liable to trip.
Instead, I offer pretty lights with which to celebrate and raise my cup of Chai Nog to anyone who’s ever read a post here, especially those of you who stitched bookmarks this fall.
Northern lights. Cooper Landing, AK. Yes, it’s real. No, there is no filter on the camera or digital manipulation of the image.

Jen Wrote,
Thanks, Dawn. That was the best northern lights display I’ve ever seen. Red is rare; we usually see green/yellow, maybe with some pink. On this night the whole sky was red at times, and the display lasted for hours.
Happy Holiday to you, too!

Gee, I’ll have to see what other northern lights shots Mike has.
The problem with northern lights is that they’re out at *night,* and I’m not much of a night person.
