Let There Be Night Stitchlings
Mike is just about finished with a new Let There Be Night Stitchling pattern. Like the new Puzzle Pattern, this one has been in the works for years, but it had…um, problems. We got some really good laughs from it, then put it away and moved on, creating Night Howl, Lovely Night, and Night Lights instead. Well, Mike returned to the old pattern recently and took another stab. Problem solved! It needs some tidying up, but will be ready to stitch soon.
There’s another Night Stitchling idea I’ve been pushing, but Mike hasn’t yet embraced. He will; it’s a good idea. In fact, I just this instant thought of another detail that might entice him. Maybe. Anyway, I came up with a new idea last week that I love–I’ve got the title and all!–and that one seems to have clicked for him. He’s mulling it over now, and I have no doubt he’ll sit down and doodle it into life one day.
In the meantime, it’s not as if I don’t have anything to stitch.

I just got Night Howl. Looking forward to seeing what the new one is! I like them on black, although your newsletter indicated that some don’t.

Night Howl is perfect for you, Becca! That one was all Mike. I had no idea he was designing it until he showed me the nearly finished piece. Of course, I had to add my 2-cents: I suggested a change in one of the cacti and the addition of the owl.
What people don’t like about the black is stitching on it. It can be tough to see, but there are tricks to make it easier, too: light above and below the fabric, a white paper or afghan on your lap to highlight the fabric holes, stitching in sunlight, etc.
As you can tell, I love the black!

The owl was a perfect addition, so your input may have be slight, but significant.
I was up late last night,too. Reverse stitching a chunk of Anything is Possible! I found that I had made a fatal error early on. I’m starting over!
