Life in AK
Pretend it’s early March. That’s when I started this post. I’ve just now gotten the photos ready.
It’s been an especially cold year in Alaska. True to form, March has come in like a lion. At least, it’s awfully windy. Cold + wind = Brrrrr! So I got out the […]Stitchathon Day 7
Bookmark finished early yesterday, Day 6. I discovered at the end of Day 5 that I needed to rip part of the design because it was spaced incorrectly. A small thing, but since this is a model, it needs to be correct. The pattern needs to be corrected as well, since that’s […]
Stitchathon Day 4
New Stitchling is as done as it will be here. There is the “little spot of color” to do, but I didn’t come prepared to do that, so it will have to wait.
The bookmark is well under way. I kinda think I might finish it tomorrow. By “finish” I mean […]Stitchathon Day 3
One more day for the Stitchling, I think, and not the whole day, either. How cool is that?! Wait and see–I’ll be glad I brought the puzzle pattern, too.
I went for a wonderful ski today with a friend. I picked her brain for a class I’m offering at the TNNA NeedleArts Market […]Stitchathon Day 2
The new Stitchling has 2 identifiable shapes. There are 4 “shapes” total.

It’s snowing. In fact, I heard a rumor that there are blizzard warnings, but it doesn’t look blizzardy right here right now. We’ll see what comes […]Stitchathon Day 1
Okay, when I typed that title, my fingers were anticipating, and it came out: Stitchathong. Huh. Anyone up for a needlework thong design?! Some of the greatest ideas are the result of accidents, do you suppse this is one? It would be UNIQUE!
But that’s not what I’m working on (yet). I […]DayZ Dozen Blog Hop Conclusion
Yesterday was the last day of the DayZ Dozen Blog Hop. I felt the loss this morning when I saw the link to the Lazy Girl blog on my Firefox toolbar. I clicked it anyway.
Catching Up
After a brief period of panic while proofreading (perfectly normal, in my experience), I sent the Spiderwick manuscripts off on Wednesday night so they’d be on the editor’s desk first thing Thursday morning, the day the first book was due. I like to be punctual.
The Final Run-Thorugh
I’m checking for typos. Get it?
Time Change
Wow. It’s like summer all of a sudden. Except for the frigid temperature and snow and calendar. With the time change, it’s light until after 8 p.m. Mike worked until 7:30 tonight, fooled by the light into thinking it was much earlier than it was.
That’s what happens in the summer: we […]
